An aspiring Eagle graces the never-ending Zuni skies, guided by a corn-maiden and a Zuni Sunface element, which represents the elements in balance. The raptor has red coral eyes and a fabulous beak, while corn maiden's facial features are incised and darkened with jet paste. The Sunface element is composed of red coral, lapis and turquoise. The corn maiden is inlaid with lapis, red coral and turquoise embellishments. Gorgeously incised feather work is seen on the raptor, and a dragonfly friend is present.
Far-sighted wisdom, feminine strength and environmental balance contribute to the success of flight for this approximate 9" tall, 6 1/2" wide and 2" deep magnificent gold lip mother-of-pearl shell sculpture by Gloria Chattin. Measurements include the marble base that's accented with crushed red coral. Incised corn stalks adorn this area as well. Signed by the artist. Extra shipping charges may apply.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this eagle fetish will go to the Zuni Eagle Sanctuary. Please see our resources page for more information on the sanctuary.
