Starting around the 1970's noted Zuni Pueblo artists like Veronica Poblano, Sullivan Shebola and Carol Lasiloo made inlay jewelry inspired by famous cartoon iconography. Today these pieces are sometimes referred to as Zuni Toons or Zuni Tunes. Perhaps Shenel Comosona was influenced by their work.
We're happy to welcome Shenel to Keshi's website with a wonderfully hand-fabricated stone to stone inlaid canine pendant. This darling hound or beagle has been set with pen shell, jet, shimmering mother-of-pearl, clam shell and happy turquoise into sterling silver. It's about 1" long and 3/4" wide. Signed by the artist. The lovely silver snake chain is not included but is available and sold separately here
