Bears represent healing in Zuni Pueblo traditional ways. Around the rainforest coast of British Colombia, a subspecies of black bears called Kermode bears produce rare white or creamy-furred bears sometimes referred to as Spirit Bears. Shannon Waatsa honors these sacred creatures with a smoothly sculpted marble bear (or perhaps a polar bear) family. Mom catches up on much needed sleep while her energetic cubs lounge safely around and on her. Their adorable facial features are from jet. About 5" long, 3" wide and 2 1/2" tall.
