Humans and
Horses have coexisted for a long time. Andres Quandelacy's turquoise-eyed equine looks for a special companion. Carved from spiny oyster shell with attractive vertical streaks and white mottled areas, Andres' fabulous pony is about 2" long, 3/8" wide and 1 1/4" tall. Colorful spiny oyster shell comes from the bivalve mollusk found in warm waters such as the Gulf of Mexico, along the coasts of North America, South America and the Philippines. Beloved since forever, Indigenous cultures have used this vibrant shell ceremonially, as ornamentation in jewelry and in fetish carving.
