Hiram Peynetsa's gloriously petite vulture would make a wonderful addition to anyone's collection. Vultures have a bad reputation as opportunistic scavengers associated with death. The truth is that vulture hold an important role in life. Feeding on carrion these birds nourish themselves on decay, transforming what could be a negative into a substance for growth. All while helping to clean their environment and preventing the spread of disease. Hiram's little vulture is carved from dark black marble. The body has a smooth and glassy polish with a textured ruff around the neck and is topped off with a delicate head of red apple coral featuring inlaid eyes of turquoise. The carving stands at 1 5/8" tall by 1 1/2" long.
