Pueblo storytellers are clay figurines usually of an elder such as a Mother or Grandmother surrounded by children. They represent a sharing of important knowledge, songs and stories of traditional ways. Annette Romero's wonderful storyteller pottery is skillfully hand-built from natural clay and painted with rich pigments including a green one that's particularily eye-catching. Many young ones have gathered around to listen as the storyteller speaks. She wears traditional clothing including a floral cape and a lovely squash blossom necklace. The kids hold favorite things like little drums and such. About 8 1/4" tall, 4 1/4" wide and 6" deep. Signed by the artist.
