The Roadrunner is the official state bird of the Land of Enchantment. The sacred Zia symbol originates at Zia Pueblo and represents the Four Directions in life. It's also on New Mexico's state flag. Zuni Pueblo artist Edward Lewis harmoniously brought together these iconic elements in a carved serpentine pendant in the shape of the state of New Mexico. A feisty and quick roadrunner along with the Zia design are represented in colorful acrylics painted by Edward. Including the lovely silver twisted bale, it's about 2 1/4" long and 1 1/2" wide. Signed by the artist. The silver snake chain is not included but is available and sold separately here.
