Vivianita Booqua & Bryant Othole
Charles Martinez, Jr.
This necklace is a show stopper! Charles Martinez, Jr. carved a beautiful Bear from the spiral of a melon shell, a very large type of sea snail. On the shell he overlaid an alternating heartline of red coral. A wonderful Dragonfly friend is incised on the bear. This bear pendant is about 2 1/2" from nose to tail and 1 1/4" long, with a red coral eye. Above the bear are several other carvings, all of them carry their own unique personality. Highest on the necklace are two Beavers, one is carved of luscious mother of pearl shell, the other of Picasso marble. There are two Eagles, again one is mother of pearl shell but the other is a rich green serpentine. There is a Frog of Picasso marble and a Badger of red coral. Just above the bear pendant are two graceful birds of mother of pearl shell. Each animal has inlaid eyes of black jet or bright turquoise and range in size from 3/4" to 1 1/2" long. With a secure threaded clasp this necklace is 23" long. Signed by the artist.
Bobby & Corraine Shack
Bobby and Corraine Shack's phenomenal sterling silver, turquoise, red coral, pen shell, gold lip shell and mother-of-pearl necklace and earrings set is all hand-fabricated, showing off several gorgeous inlaid Phoenix birds and wings. The inlaid pen shell dots on the top area of the wings indicate it's a Phoenix bird, according to the Shack's.
We love these stylized, mythical birds. This striking necklace with handmade chain is about 18" long, comfortably resting on the collar bone area of one's chest. The center Phoenix bird station is about 2 1/2" long and 2 3/8" wide. The fabulous winged earrings hang at about 2" long including hook fixtures, and are 3/4" wide. Signed by the artists.
A Hummingbird alights Bobby and Corraine Shack's sterling silver, glistening abalone, mother-of-pearl, pen shell, turquoise, coral and gold lip shell inlaid unisex bolo tie. Sipping nectar from a mother-of-pearl, red coral, abalone and pen shell flower, this feathered friend fuels up.
An adjustable 44" long black leather braided bolo with sterling silver tips hosts this winged delight. The tips themselves are about 2 1/4" long. The hummingbird and flower station is approximately 3" long and 3 1/2" wide. Signed by the artists.
Eric Othole, Cochiti-Zuni
Darrell Shebola's impressive Eagle unisex bolo tie is all hand-fabricated of sterling silver, carved gold lip shell and mother-of-pearl presented on hand-braided black leather. All three of the engaging raptor's eyes are of inlaid pen shell. We love how Darrell made use of the shell, allowing the golden areas of it to show off each bird's plumage. Overall length of this bolo tie is about 21 1/2", while the main raptor is about 2 1/2" long and 2 1/4" wide. The two eaglets, gorgeously suspended from the silver tips, measure about 1" long and 7/8" wide. Signed by the artist.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this eagle fetish will go to the Zuni Eagle Sanctuary. Please see our resources page for more information on the sanctuary.
Dynamic in color and artistic arrangement, Dora Massie's all hand-fabricated sterling silver, jet, turquoise, orange spiny oyster shell and mother-of-pearl inlaid Zuni Sunface necklace and earrings set is breathtaking. The Zuni Sunface symbol represents the elements in balance.
