Pleasing Penguin

Calvert Bowannie's turquoise-eyed penguin is carved from gold lip shell with an overlaid turquoise chest. In nature, a penguin's signature black and white plumage is actually a camouflage called countershading. While swimming out in the ocean, the black area of their coats acts like a cloaking mechanism helping them remain almost invisible to predators dwelling below. These remarkable flightless birds are intelligent and sociable. About 1 1/4" tall, 3/4" wide and 1" deep.
