A curved Mountain-lion
(cougar, puma or panther) is carved from orange spiny oyster shell by Daphne and Leland Boone. Turquoise eyes and an alternating heartline from turquoise and shimmering abalone are inlaid to this roughly 2 1/2" long, 5/8" wide and 1 3/4" tall feline. The heartline represents the breath path. Leland is from the noted Teddy Weahkee (d) family of carvers. His grandmother was Edna Leki (d), and his mother is beloved carver Lena Boone.
