Polar bears are not a traditionally carved animal for Pueblo people. They are especially sacred to the Inuit and Alaska's indigenous Native Americans, who regard them much in the same way Pueblo people do a white Bear, who is considered to have extra healing qualities than a brown or black bear. A pure and strong spirit emanates from Burt Awelagte's marble creature with turquoise inlaid eyes. A green turquoise, branch red coral and fresh water pearl bead offering bundle is given to this white bear or polar bear in appreciativeness for its purity in life. About 4 1/2" long, 2" wide and 2 5/8" tall.
