Kevin Chapman carved this Owl from Cerrillos turquoise, mined from the Cerrillos hills 20 miles southwest of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Archeologists believe most of the turquoise found at Chaco Canyon, 180 miles northwest of Santa Fe, came from the Cerrillos hills. The minimalist carving style Kevin chose to use to describe this night raptor is reminiscent of those ancient times. About 3" long and 2 1/4" tall.
