Hummingbird chicks hatch with their eyes closed and have almost no plumage. At around three weeks of age they fledge the nest. Bryston Bowannie's young hummingbird from travertine with tiny eyes from turquoise, practices and stretches its nicely incised wings, while a fully developed beak from pink mussel shell can't wait to sip sweet nectar. About 1" tall, 1 3/4" wide and 1 1/2" deep.
