Christopher Sandoval's father is renowned carver Melvin Sandoval. Christopher's mesmerizing Frog is carved from Indian Paint stone, also known as Death Valley Paint stone or Navajo Blanket stone. This gorgeous material comes from the Death Valley area of California, where collecting is no longer allowed. The natural patterns seen in this sedimentary rock are so captivating, with splotches of creamy tan, rich brown-blacks and veining of an almost orange-brick red color. It's like this frog is hopping through reflective shadows. We love how Christopher made use of this specimen around the turquoise-eyed face area of this approximate 3 1/8" long, 2 1/8" wide and 1" tall fetish.
