In classical mythology, venomous amphisbaena is an ant-eating serpent having a head at each end of its body and the ability to move forward or backward. According to legend, the first Amphisbaenae were spawned from the blood of Medusa. Frankie Eustace carves wonderful reptiles like this two-headed Snake from serpentine. Eyes and accents are from turquoise inlays. About 4 1/2" long, 1 1/4" wide and 3/8" tall.
