Intriguingly Owls move their heads instead of their eyes to view their environment. The Zuni Pueblo people regard an owl as "the Night Grandfather" because of its nocturnal activities and observations. Rochelle Quam carved an out of this world owl from a fabulous specimen of young opaque fluorite, etching the coolest of plumage and inlaying turquoise eyes. About 3 1/2" long, 2" wide and 1 1/2" tall.
