Danelle Westika's wonderful little flower shaped bowl is all hand-coiled with natural clay, and hand-painted with natural pigments featuring a single frog at the lip of the bowl. Frog (Dakkya) is a sign of water. Water is life. In Zuni Pueblo, frogs often appear on prayer bowls since many of the Zuni prayers and dances ask for water in the form of rain or snow. The diminutive bowl measures about 2 1/4" in diameter and 2" tall at the top of the frog or 1 1/2" tall at the lip of the bowl. Danelle's mother is Zuni potter Priscilla Peynetsa. This piece is signed by the artist.
