Her father was iconic Zuni carver Leo Poblano (d), the nephew of Teddy Weahkee (d). Their enormous contribution to Zuni fetish carving and jewelry continues with Veronica, her son Dylan Poblano and daughter Jovanna Poblano.
Veronica's all hand-fabricated 18K gold, golden-matrix rich turquoise, extraordinary red and pink coral cabochons, Hawikuh Rainbird earrings dazzle in their contemporary presentation. The Zuni Rainbird is known as "The Bringer Of Life" representing prayers for life-giving rain and snow. Hawikuh is an archeological site at Zuni. For pierced ears, the shorter earring measures approximately 2 3/4" long and 5/8" wide. The longer one is about 3 1/4" long and 5/8" wide. Signed by the artist.
