In ancient days, Indigenous cultures made projectile points from materials that were easy to pressure-flake into small triangular shapes with sharp edges like jasper, obsidian and a few varieties of chert. Chert is a compact rock consisting essentially of microcrystalline quartz. They were roughly triangular in shape with flat to concave bases. These arrow points were essential in hunting and warfare. Lionel Sanchez, Jr.'s wonderful chert point for protection measures about 1 3/8" by 7/8" wide. It comes with a lovely handmade soft sueded leather pouch that's about 4" by 3" with a 30" strap. A special 2-piece set.
