A powerful Bear
in a blanket or robe emerges in strength from an American Bison
horn by master carver Brian Yatsattie. Intelligent turquoise inlaid eyes and a lovely etched blanket are details that we can appreciate in this approximate 5 1/2" tall, 2 1/2" wide and 5 1/4" deep work. The natural cream features of the horn's tip enhances this bear's already lovely muzzle. A bear is a principal animal for the Pueblo People. Strength, healing, mothering, protection, hunting and gathering are traits and abilities bear's possess in their relationship with nature. Having a carving of such an animal can be a reminder of a similar power that is within ourselves.
