Imagine the effort expended to catch a fish - this Bear took its chance and came out a winner. The lovely carving, by Fred Bowannie Jr., is made of a found Zuni travertine stone with rich hues of brown and gold. Its inlaid eyes of pen shell seem to be proud of its catch and even a little surprised. Exquisitely carved throughout, including fearsome claws. With spectacular curved lines, the piece is polished with a smooth finish while the fish has incredible detail and texture. The bear and his prize are carved from a single stone, signed by the artist, and measures about 4 1/2" long, 2 1/4" wide by 3" tall.
