Elephants have a lot of power, dignity and are very loyal to family as seen in Maxx Laate's expressive carving. The matriarch reaches to the sun emitting a hearty, trumpet-like sound through her trunk in a call to gather the herd. Two little pachyderms have already come to her. Eyes are from jet inlays. Dimensions of this heartfelt piece are about 3 1/2" tall, 2" wide and 1 5/8" deep, intricately hewn from one antler specimen.
