Kateri Quandelacy Sanchez is well-known for carving Corn-Maidens, Mothers, Maiden Grandmothers and Grandmother fetishes. Kateri's aunt Faye Quandelacy (d) was the first to carve Corn Maidens in small, table top form in the early 1980's, spawning a family tradition. Kateri's tiny Corn Maiden from Campitos turquoise has an etched and filled with jet paste face. A spiny oyster shell cabochon adorns her as do star and Dragonfly elements. About 1 1/2" tall, 1" wide and 1/2" deep.
