Delvin Leekya's grandfather was Leekya Deyuse (d), probably the most famous and iconic fetish carver who was born in 1889. No doubt his granddad would be proud of Delvin's sleek and stylized Turtle or tortoise. Carved from a particularly dark ricolite serpentine, the smooth and streamlined turtle radiates an effortless elegance and sage wisdom. Sweet eyes are from inlaid turquoise while on its spectacular carapace is a glowing piece of watery mother-of-pearl and dotted with more turquoise. This harmonious water creature measures about 2 5/8" long, 1 3/8" wide by 5/8" tall.
